About the Event
Did you know we're in "the dearth?" It's the time of year when honeybees struggle to find enough protein (pollen) and carbohydrates (nectar) to keep the colony growing.
This condition continues until the fall flowering begins usually in August and continues till fall flowers bloom.
Knowing how, what and when to feed your colonies is key to keeping your hives happy - and growing. "If a colony is not growing, it's dying."
This is also the time of year that varroa mites and small hive beetles multiply exponentially. At this meeting, we'll discuss your ntegrated Pest Management (IPM) as well.
Join us on August 9th at the Leroy Collins Public Library, Meeting room A at 6:30pm for our regular meeting.
Meeting starts promptly at 6:30pm
