About the Event
Preparing for the Fall
The topic for our next meeting is Preparing your bees during Fall. Our own Bobby Cutts will present information for this very important topic! Prep now to help your bees through the winter.
How much food do your bees have? Well-fed bees are less susceptible to stress...Just like us! If the flow from fall flowers was good, you may have enough to get through without feeding.
If your hives are light, if you're not sure there's enough, or if you don't keep supers on, what do you plan to do to ensure your bees don't starve? At this meeting we'll discuss putting weight on your hives.
Also, you'll hear about:
- What we can do to help our fellow beekeepers in central and south Florida affected by Hurricane Ian
- Entering the ABA Fall Honey Judging competition
- Volunteering for the North Florida Fair ABA Booth
- Nomination of Officers at the November meeting
- December Elections
***MEETING LOCATION*** AND OPEN HIVES: We are back at the Leon County Extension Office, 615 Paul Russell Road. Open Hive Demonstration begins at 5:30 (if there’s no rain). Bring your veil. We’ll start the meeting inside the LCEO at 6:30pm.
Meetings are open to the public so please RSVP at the website so we know how many to expect.
We will have your name badges to wear -- and make plans to stay for the raffle at the end.
