The winners of the three honey show categories, based on blind tasting and percent water are as follows:
Dark Honey - Roula Joanos
Medium Honey - Robert Ricketts
Light Honey - Sonja Guthrie
Best of Show - Sonja Guthrie for the tasty caramel flavor
All entries will be on display at the Kerry Forest Parkway Farmer's Market this Saturday November 14, 2020 from 8 am until Noon, at which time they can be picked up. If you can't make it to the Kerry Forest farmer's market on Saturday, we will hold your entries until the next opportunity to buy club honey at the Kerry Forest farmer's market the following Saturday November 21, 2020. After that you will have to make arrangements with me to pick up your entry.
The Apalachee Beekeepers Association will also have a table and tent for honey sales and education at the Tallahassee Junior Museum at 3945 Museum Drive this Saturday for the Museum's 2020 Fall Farm Day from 9 am until 4 pm. I understand they will be making cane syrup and zipping through the trees.
Bobby Cutts will be managing the sale at the Tallahassee Museum. If you have time, it promises to be a great opportunity to see some of the local agricultural producers and buy club honey for your holiday festivities and gifting.
