Yes, 2020 has been a different kinda year so far. In keeping with that ABA is hosting a different kinda honey show. Instead of meeting and greeting you at the North Florida Fair (cancelled) we've created a fun, but safe, alternative. Pack up your honey, drop off the entry at a local Extension Office and we'll announce the winner(s) in November.
This year, ABA honey competition will be judged via silent ballot by three judges. Anyone wishing to enter the competition must bring a separate container of honey for each entry with no distinguishing labels so that judging can be kept anonymous. Entries should be dropped off in the ABA Honey Show drop box at their local County Extension office (addresses in the Rules pdf). Look for a flyer posted near the main entrance that describes where the drop off box is located. Please read (and abide) by the rules below.
Awards: Winners of the taste competition will get a ribbon, receive a gift card and posting on this site.
Drop-off boxes are located as follows: Wakulla County Extension in the main lobby, Jefferson County Extension at the front table by the main entrance, Leon County Extension drop-off box is at the southwest entrance to the building, not at the main entrance, which is on the west side of the building. If you don't see it, call the number posted on the main entrance for guidance.
