World Bee Day

Tomorrow, May 20 is World Bee Day, a designation created 6 years ago by the United Nations to bring attention to supporting safe agricultural pollination practices in order to maintain and increase the health of the world's bee population. When the bees are healthy, the world is healthy as well.

According to the UN website:

The goal is to strengthen measures aimed at protecting bees and other pollinators, which would significantly contribute to solving problems related to the global food supply and eliminate hunger in developing countries. We all depend on pollinators and it is, therefore, crucial to monitor their decline and halt the loss of biodiversity.

Earlier today, the United Nations hosted a discussion called Bee engaged in pollinator-friendly agricultural production, which was filmed and can be viewed ONLINE HERE . Speaking begins at about the 5:20 mark.
